Badnicks are Better Than Girls? Where's Amy Rose?

Where's Amy Rose?
Well, she's not at Jakks Pacific that's for sure...and fans are starting to notice. No doubt it's the Girls Curse striking again when MOTO BUG gets a figure before a main character! It's the usual tired spiel over and over again where "nobody likes girls or wants to collect yucky girl figures so we won't make them" and then who ends up rare and super-wanted? Girl figures (when they're done well) because it turns out that if characters are cool people will collect them if you do a good job making it. But some-how companies can never be convinced of this and so you get Girls Curse phenomenon.

It's 100% understandable how Jakks Pacific started out. You need the big 3 Sonic Tails Knuckles first, because they're #1. JP then stepped it up by adding Eggman and Metal Sonic stuff right away on the line instead of neglecting villains like previous companies did. (Even Jazwares) Villains are important for play value.
However, now that they've added Mighty (very nice) and Mecha Sonic (from Sonic 2)...and a Motobug and several of Shadow...plus Silver...and had everyone else a few times...even a plush Cheese the Chao that it's becoming super obvious they're avoiding female characters like Blaze, Rouge & Amy on purpose. Cream is relatively minor so she makes sense to make later/etc. but so is Cheese the chao...yet...male chao and there you go...female rabbit and that's a 'no'. They're even re-re-re-releasing Sonic under the 'expressions' gimmick instead. It's getting real conspicuous and real annoying.

Will they eventually make her?
Hopefully so! Piko hammer is fun to play with! A 5 inch Blaze the Cat would be fun! Rouge and an emerald maybe?

Anti-Item of the week:
Laffin' Sonic 5 inch figure. This thing is rather whack. Turning 2D art into 3D figures is extremely super duper hard to do right and they didn't. The figure is even stranger looking in person. The most interesting thing about it is the gripping hand, it's either recycled from something else/another toy or they're aiming to have the figures able to hold something. I'm hoping holdable things will be released in the future.

Coming Soonish - A better page for the IDW comics materials.
Comics themselves are annoyingly hard to find/expensive to get here in the 20s and 'virtual garbage' on your suspicious kindle-flopper shouldn't be an option. Collectors collect, they don't rent things from megacorps*. I've gotten a hold of probably the first 8 of their compilations of issues because at least those are reasonably priced and so can read and add them to make it more like the better Archie pages.

Item of the week:
The Motobug figure. Because it does precisely what you want it to do for the perfect price. It's 5 dollars, it rolls, it's sturdy, it looks just like the game and it's sized very well for the figures to play with it. Stand is excellent inclusion for it, and it just all-around works. More badnick figures would be really great to have, or a dream-item would be a different chao multi pack but with OUT the usual over done ones like hero/dark/neutral...no put in there the Nights one, the swim, the 'Sonic-like' one, a Tails-chao and like a crawling baby one with bunny ears or something. Or do the jewel tone or ghost-type ones there were like a million possibilities with them to make cute stuff in a 5 pack.

Potential Item of another week / Wanted Gear:
The Sonic Battle Racers game. This thing is intriguing. A modular game you can use expansion packs for that not only increase the deck but add new boss and monster elements plus give the ability to change the board game path & keep making it different. Plus, it comes with display figure tiny toys so that's always a goodie. Not enough is known about the game or how to do it, or what all packs aside from the 4 known in the entry so hopefully somebody writes in. Very interesting.

*Is someone bitter? Is it me? Yes. And no megacorp has even robbed me yet! Let's keep it that way...

Next week:
Clothing will def. be on the menu, as well as more from Jakks Pacific
