2023- Shaping Up to be a Good Stuff Year

 Now that it's March...
2023 seems to be really on target to be another great year of Sonic Stuff. Jakks Pacific continues to turn out figures seemingly as fast as they can, Target's got tons of Sonic stuff, Old Navy keeps getting shirts, in England Smyths continues to be counted on for more, Amazon is as usual a font of items, and toy shows are showing off what fans want to (continue to) see. Movie stuff didn't result in a 'boom ban' type situation, and Sonic Frontier is a smash hit. It's pretty much good news all around for anyone that's a fan of Sonic.

The latest from Jakks Pacific:
Vector: Hopefully he gets a re-release because people's biggest complaint about the figure is how hard it is to find. Did they just like, send out barely any of these? The usual complaining goes on that the repeats of Sonic/Tails/Knuckles on whatever wave are shelf-warming while the new characters are all gone every time is getting old: hopefully JP will short pack the Sonic figure instead of 'whoever is new'.

Infinite & Cream
Seriously why did they not give her Cheese or Chocola? Makes no sense.
Infinite: It would have been somewhat insulting to release him before Cream.......but what about Blaze? The popular character vs the 1 shot villain from a game that didn't get rave reviews? Bit of an odd choice to have him go first before her.

Scalper's Defeat:
Stick it to the stupid scalpers! Grab the small line figures from up near the register. I always cheer when scalpers are defeated...because when they lose, the fans win--and that's what counts. 

Level Capsule Diorama:
VERY FUN. Who wouldn't want this? Reenact the games on your shelf complete with spinny sign and letting the little animals out. As with other 'dioramas' or 'playset packs' the figure elements seem to pop up later as single card items (the badnicks all did, thats for sure) so hopefully the same will be true of Flicky & Pocky so people can get more of them. Hopefully this also leads to more of the 'traditional animals that come out of those' being released in the future too--a first for Sonic. (And an easy softball target too--like who wouldn't want them/you see it in every classic game so much/they're simple and easy to make, it's a wonder it took anyone this long to make something as toyetic as this) 

Accessories Page Chaos:
(And it's not the good, emerald kind either...) If you've poked around any of the USA ACCS pages recently they're kind of in a disarray. There kept getting too many of one single thing just...making accessories look homogeneous, so items like hats or socks had to be splintered off into its own category. But, that leaves the original pages somewhat empty until other items can be found to fill them in. 
Shoes was the most recent off-shoot, so now the older pages are in a bit of worse for wear shape. However, with the new stuff that keeps coming out, hopefully that won't last long.

Upcoming new page probably:
Swim wear. Companies have discovered they can cash in on Sonic Swimming, so there keeps getting more stuff for it...and it doesn't really belong on 'clothing general' so that's something that's probably going to have to get a category shortly.

Sonic Prime Success:
The show won a prize or an award or something, which is always nice. What's also good to hear is that the 2nd half of the season (or is it season 2? It has confusing naming) is coming later on in 2023 so that the hype doesn't die down or anything. Various companies are also confirming that merch is coming for it, so expect probably Proto stuff to get some images. This is also good news but it does hinge on the ability of them to keep the show doing well and not steer it off a cliff plot or character-wise. 

Next Week:
There's gonna be some real stinkers next week! Prepare your eyes for stupid junk because there's 2 categories in which it will appear. Hopefully also: better looks at some of the recent toys. I am, after all, a toy collector (Toys & tees are specialties) so I'm after basically everything Jakks is doing action figure wise but have not been able to get hands on all of it yet.
